GUILD is getting ready to launch on Kickstarter, and I’m extremely excited, albeit a tad nervous. I would love to have our pre-launch numbers above 200 but currently we’re floating at around 115. That’s fine, I’m confident enough, but anxiety is real.
Our goal of $1500 is pretty achievable I think, and while I’m really excited to just hit that goal, I’m even more excited about our single stretch goal.
At $4000 we’re going to be including the printed copies of issue #0 of the officially published GUILD Adventure Diary.
The GUILD Adventure Diary is my planned serial adventure zine for GUILD. I’m hoping to publish them on a semi-regular basis with fun adventures written for GUILD by me, and a whole gaggle of other rad people.
For Issue #0 however, we’re publishing a pile of super short and concise adventures by people you all know, and some of you love.
If the stretch goal gets knocked out, the book will be included for every physical backer, but never fear, because regardless, I’ll be printing this book, and eventually selling it on our web-store.
As far as Adventure authors for Issue #0 I’m stoked to say we’ve got a great list of people here, and I’m sure some of you already know these names.
Luke Gearing (The Isle, Acid Death Fantasy, Gradient Descent)
Stella Condrey (Rimbound Transmissions, The Factory)
Christian Sorrell (The Bloodfields, There’s a Goblin on the Loose in Icarus Station)
Amanda P (Tannic, Pilgrimage of the Sun Guard)
Thom Owen (The Divine/Arcane WYRD TBD, TROIKAMI Vice TBD)
and K (That’s me)
These people are incredible games people, amazing writers, and just good people to know. And I’m ecstatic that they’ve been open to writing for our new game!
The art by Tony Jaguar is nearing its final stage, and I’m so excited to finally do mockups to share!
Something I’ve been working on nearly every day for the past week is the GUILD Adventure Diary (Daily series). On my Cohost I’m working on these 30-45min writing exercises where I take the tables for adventure seeds in the back of GUILD, and slap out a fast, freewritten adventure with essentially no second thoughts. See a snippet below
There are several reasons for this.
To practice.
The obvious one. A regular adventure practice is good for the brain and helps my creativity
To have things to fall back on.
I plan to return to these daily entries, find the goodest bits, and make better, and new adventures to publish in the future.
To prove the concept.
The tables in the back of the book are designed to make adventures quickly in case of a last minute session, or a PUG. I want to prove that is possible by doing these full adventures in under 45 minutes.
All of these adventures are free currently. You can go on my cohost, and just copy and paste the text to whatever you want, and take it! They aren’t edited, or formatted perfectly, and are written for GUILD, but feel free to snag them, and follow along for more!
Lastly—PAXU!
I’LL BE THERE! We’ll have a few things to sell, we’ll be playing games, and hanging with friends, and meeting our online people! Come say hi! I (K) will be at the Plus One EXP booth for several hours a day and I want to meet you, and talk games!
Much love to all of you, share and subscribe and buy games, and play shit, and be cool.
And kill fascists.
